We have embryos!

That's right!! We have four little sweet embryos growing in a lab and trying to get where they need to be for our transfer!

Out of the six eggs retrieved, only 4 were mature, but those four are fertilized! The nurse said we're still hopeful for a day 5 transfer because of me being so young. After the first progesterone in oil shot, however, I wouldn't be opposed to a day 3. HOLY COW.  I still feel like I have a charlie horse in my butt. I also got flushed like crazy in my face and left arm.  I also started having a bit of shortness of breath, but I don't know if that's from the oppressive humidity here, muscle soreness, the shot itself, or from the anesthesia yesterday. It's not bad enough to warrant a trip to the hospital, but it was/is noticeable.

They won't call tomorrow, but they will be calling Saturday morning to let us know how everything is looking, and to see if we'll be doing a day 3 or day 5 transfer. I'll keep you updated as we find out :)

  1. So glad that you guys have four embryos that have been fertilized :) I hope that at least one of those little embryos makes it to the transfer day. As far as the progesterone shots they are not fun at all even for the person who gives you the shot. I assume you already know the basics rotate cheek to cheek each night. A key thing for me when I gave Maria the injection was to inject the oil slowly since it is so thick. Also, make sure to massage the injection site for a good minute to move that oil around. Another piece of advice is to give the injection a few hours before bed so you are still able to walk around etc. This will prevent your butt from getting a bunch of knots. We did these injections for 10 weeks after the transfer :) Good luck to you and David we are rooting for you!!!

  2. Oh my goodness...I can't imagine being on those injections for 10 weeks. Your wife is a saint!! I'm only one them until the morning of the transfer, and I'm already done with them! Thank you for the tips as I do appreciate them. I tried to ice the location today, but I'm going to try just giving the injection tomorrow and then using heat as I almost think the ice made it worse. We'll see!!
